Cabalgantes ...Horses
Calagantes "A gathering of horses and men in peace and traditions." Yesterday as I was in mi casa making hats and taking naps... my neighbourhood roofdogs started barking about 5:30. I went out to talk to them, and saw that there were horses passing by at the end of my street. I counted at least 75, so I quickly got some clothes on and went to the top of Cinco de Mayo street, where they usually park the horse trailers during events. Wow...it was a happening event. Lots of horses..and some really loud music. I called some friends, but sorry I couldn't call everyone as I was loosing shooting time. It was still daylight, not like last year when they arrived at 0 dark hundred. I befriended a guy who looked official and he told me it happens on the 1st Sat of Nov. every year.... so okay..it is now on my calendar!!! But what I missed makes me cry. They paraded the horses down the main beach of Zihua!!!! ...and I didn't see that!! I later ran into friends and asked if they saw the horses... yes they all had... but not one thought to give me a call and let me know... how sad is that!!!! ...yes I'm pouting!!! Anyways here is what I did see... it was pretty awesome.!!
